Whilst driving through the narrow country roads I saw an abandoned army tank nestled in the woods. Venturing further I could see more tanks and a delapidated aircraft as if it had crash landed, painted fences, tyres scattered with multicoloured capsules littering the ground. The atmosphere was totally motionless and silent. I was standing in the aftermath of a battle. Paintball or Squirmish seems to attract all sorts and hopefully harmless fun! The paintball gun or ‘marker’ is the primary piece of equipment used to tag an opposing player with paintballs which contain polyethylene glycol, other non toxic and water soluble substances, and dye. The natural landscape had been transformed into a chemical landscape reminiscent of an art installation.
